UberGirl Challenge 2010/11 - Cycle for Malawi
UberGirl United Kingdom & Ireland is doing a charity cycle in aid of Moni Malawi.
Moni Malawi is the official UberGirl charity and is a registered charity No SC040141. They are looking to raise money to build a School for orphans in the district of Kaponda, Malawi. The school will provide schooling to around 1500 kids, many of them orphans since the average life expectancy is 38. 1 in 5 kids in Malawi die before they reach the age of 5.

Every year UberGirl United Kingdom & Ireland do a Charity Challenge, and this year it is Cycle for Malawi in order to raise money to build a school for the kids of Malawi.
The Challenge lead by brothers Stephen & Paul Reilly of UberGirl United Kingdom & Ireland will start on Monday the 27th September 2010 at 8am. Taking a route to Lands End that will add an extra 200 miles and two days onto the journey to Lands end. Keen to visit as many cities on route to Lands end collecting money for Moni Malawi. The team will cycle on average 94 miles per day, over 12 days totalling approx 1128 miles.
The Cycle has the full support of Clyde 1's drive time presenter SUZIE MCGUIRE who is also a patron of the charity.
It is a mammoth challenge for the team, below is the route they will be taking on route to Lands end:
Day 1 Monday 27th September - John O'Groats - Inverness - Approx 119 Miles Day 2 Tuesday 28th September - Inverness - Aberdeen - Approx 104 Miles Day 3 Wednesday 29th September - Aberdeen - Dundee - Perth - Approx 88 Miles Day 4 Thursday 30th September - Perth - Dunfermline - Stirling - Glasgow - Approx 85 Miles Day 5 Friday 1st October - Glasgow - Coatbridge - Airdrie - Bathgate - Edinburgh - Dunbar Approx 77 Miles Day 6 Saturday 2nd October - Dunbar - Newcastle - Approx 92.5 Miles Day 7 Sunday 3rd October - Newcastle - Leeds - Approx 100.6 Miles Day 8 Monday 4th October - Leeds - Manchester - Liverpool - Approx 81 Miles Day 9 Tuesday 5th October - Liverpool - Birmingham - Approx 90.7 Miles Day 10 Wednesday 6th October - Birmingham - Bristol - Approx 89.6 Miles Day 11 Thursday 7th October - Bristol - Exeter - Approx 82 Miles Day 12 Friday 8th October - Exeter - Lands End Approx 119 Miles
UberGirl United Kingdom & Ireland would encourage anyone wanting to join the team and cycle any leg of the challenge or if you want to raise awareness in the town/city and collect money with Moni Malawi & UberGirl for the team arriving. Any help would be welcome and very much appreciated.
The Cycle will also be filmed by UberG TV (www.UberG.tv) documenting the journey and capturing the blood, sweat and tears shed to get to lands end. You will be able to watch daily videos of how the team are getting on as well as logging onto our facebook and twitter updates.
